"well worth the detour" is what I would say. I mean, if you're anywhere near this place to begin with... you probably are up for a detour

I was remiss in not reviewing this place when I stopped in last year. Great vibe, good beers and an amazing view. Well worth the trip!

This place has become one of my favorite breweries I got to visit yet. Was on a little getaway in Hunter and decided to stop here on the way. The view was incredible! It was so relaxing and peaceful too. Their sour beer was great but their light lager was INCREDIBLE! Great prices for a glass and even for the cans to take home. Also loved that they had a pop up food sections with some yummy treats. The staff was super friendly and I loved seeing people bring their cut pets with them. Really enjoyed this place and can't wait to be back!

It was a great day. Reaching back to some old memories of the owners back in the day. Miss ya Peter!! And nice to meet you Mike.

After hiking the Platte Clove Preserve, driving along Spruceton Road it looked like the brewery wasn't open...but up the hill was the perfect spot for a few beers. Mountain views, friendly vibe, great beers. Don't miss this one! (closed Monday-Wednesday)

Stoped in here for a drink. The place looks amazing. The staff was awesome and friendly. So was the crowd. Plenty of outside seats family style seats ( make friends) Children and dog friendly. I will be back

TL; DR: the (almost) end of the road is worth the trip. I've said it before: location matters when it comes to microbreweries. West Kill is almost off the charts in terms of both location, ambience, and of course, brews. Tucked way back on a road that provides access to Hunter Mountain trails (not for noobs, folks, you've been warned), and what looks to be a superb waterfall hike, you're treated to an amazing view of the Catskills from the brewery's cozy little deck. I would love to see it again in full fall peak color. The beers, quite simply, rock. There was even an oyster stout on tap when I visited -points for that. Plenty of to go options in the nearby retail space, and if you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of the Insta famous Teddy The Brewery Cat. They have a rotation of food trucks on site, a fire pit and associated seating. Just a great hang after you bag the Hunter Mountain fire tower.

What an unexpected gem on a dead end road on the backside of Hunter Mountain! Awesome beer all around, a food truck serving Puerto Rican/Ecuadorian specialties and board games galore. Lose a star for small glasses. Pints are standard across the brewpub world. You don't sell 12oz cans right? Gimme a friggin' pint people.

oh man, what a charming little discovery! This brewery nestled in the woods is a real gem. I owe a big thanks to my fellow Yelpers for pointing me in the right direction through their reviews. This place is just adorable, tucked away on a quiet backroad with a friendly "beer" sign at the entrance. Parking is plentiful, so no need to stress about that. It seems they might mix things up occasionally (I could be wrong, but it didn't seem like the food truck is a permanent fixture). ---Now, let's get to the main attraction - the beer. They offer a nice selection on tap and in bottles. You place your order inside, grab your glass, and you're all set. They've got board games to keep you entertained, and on less-than-ideal weather days (like the rainy one when I visited), they've got cozy fires roaring to keep everyone warm. There's even an outdoor area with live music - a lovely touch. My partner and I decided to try a sandwich from the food truck, and it did not disappoint. It had the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors. There's also a separate building where you can snag some branded merch - hats, shirts, you name it. When it comes to drinks, I'd recommend my partner's choice, the Brookie (a lighter option), and my own, the Fire Tower. To sum it up, this place is cozy, spacious, and it exudes a wonderfully "beer-centric" vibe, if you catch my drift. Cheers!

West Kill Brewing Steve and I recently experienced and we walked away fairly impressed! Bury The Hatchet was the name of the pale ale we had which we liked quite a bit! Feels like we don't get pale ales enough as it is oh so easy to just slip into IPA territory. Bury The Hatchet had a floral and hoppy flavors and was very aromatic and hazy as far as picking up characteristics using your other senses. Good all around beer and a good one to have served up very cold!
